A little over a year ago, many individuals and businesses/organizations were previously contacted regarding participation in the 2013 Fall Herpers Survey, designed to get a sense of attitudes and opinions of the “herper community.” Though it took a long time to analyze the data, the final report is now available! It can be downloaded at
this link. The file is 7.03MB.
The survey was sponsored through a grant from the Southwestern Center for Herpetological Research (
www.southwesternherp.com), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Therefore, some of the questions specifically address herp-related concerns in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah. However, there are also many questions which have universal application, and you may find them useful for your own business/organization even if you aren’t located in those six states.
A similar survey is planned for Fall 2015. Depending on funding available from other interested organizations, the survey may expand to include topics of concern for other states and countries in addition to the general-interest questions and regional focus. Suggestions for topics to explore are welcome; an email address is included on the inside cover of the report to provide your feedback.
Please feel free to share this email with other interested people and organizations as you see fit.
