General Herp Talk Can't figure out where to post down in the other discussion forums? Too many options and too complicated? Well post your herp related messages here and to heck with it.

Found this for auction on Ebay

This must have been made by a taxidermist on the, shall we say, stupid side
A rattler, fairly good sized with venom dripping fangs exposed, hatching from a ceramic egg.
Aside from the fact that rattlers are live bearers, when have you seen a snake egg crack like that when it hatches? I'd be embarrased to have something this idiotic displayed in my home, but it would make an interesting conversation piece among herpers as an example of stupid things people do concerning reptiles.

The auction is listed
here
Price is $18.00 plus shipping.

I'll add the photo here as well since the auction will end in a week and would negate the usefulness of this post.

Quote:
This is a real Diamondback Rattlesnake head posed emerging from a ceramic shell. Has a flat base for display. Novel new display. Shipping $6.00.

Thats the kind of thing a naive kid ,who is just in love with anything to do with snakes would buy in a heartbeat.
I know i would of if i was still 11.
Ahh the innocence of youth
