Updated pics of Chomper, the jag boy

They're not the greatest pics (THANKS IPHONE!), but they do show his color quite well. He's a hypo red jag from Will Bird. Definitely a testament to Will's taste and work. I'll hopefully be able to take some better shots of all the snakes soon!

Thanks. I'm hoping he'll breed with my mutt girl, Squirmy. Unfortunately, I haven't seen them locking up at all. I'm afraid he may still be too young and inexperienced, and/or might need another male to spar with to spur him into action. He's definitely a gorgeous snake though.

Nice Jag! I will give you some info on male combat though. I personally wouldnt recommend you doing a battle with males. Not only for the safety of the males but they can get VERY aggressive towards each other sometimes resulting in bites or even death. If you do, do it for a very short amount of time and monitor them at all times and be ready to stick your hands in there and get bit badly if things go wrong. Along with that, unless your Jag wins, you will be setting yourself up in a worse position than you are now. The winner of the battle is the male that gets 'pumped' for breeding, not the loser. So cross your fingers that the Jag wins (and doesnt get hurt).

I have tried male combat before and it was the worst idea I've ever thought of. Male Carpets are VERY aggressive during breeding if they are put with one another. All my Carpets are as tame as ball pythons yet once I decided to try male combat and put 2 of my males together, they turned into violent snakes I've never seen before. I wouldnt recommend it at all.

Thanks yaz. You'll be happy to know I came home from a weekend away, and caught him and his girlfriend locked up. I'm very excited now!
