Thanks for posting the pictures. Very nice animals. If you get them back and can ship to Canada let me know You owe the guy nothing. You've done everything I would expect of an honest dealer. Wash your hands of this guy with clear conscience.

Thanks everyone for your input. The problem has been resolved. I had been teterring on giving him a refund, but when this person decided they wanted to get nasty, well then they opened hells gates upon themself. I am always honest and truthful in everything I do. I pride myself on my pride and integrity and that is how I have always tried to keep my business. This customer stated that if I did not refund their money they were going to contact their credit card company and reverse payment, and then seek legal action. Well I had to step up and tell them that if they tried to reverse their credit card payment (I had e-mails stateing that they were happy with both animals) then they would be subjecting themself to legal action for Credit card fraud. Also I informed them that they had no legal standing for legal action. I refunded them $140 (10% of the total purchase price) basically to try to appease them and told them that was the end of it PERIOD. Thanks to everyone that helped with their input. Also Roscoe if you are interested I have 3.2 adult Stars still available and yes I can ship to Canada after I process C.I.T.E.S. paperwork on the animals. If your interested please feel free to contact me privately through e-mail.

I am rethinking my last post. Your pics that you said you sent this guy were very clear. I WISH I had that many pics on some of the snakes that I've bought sight unseen. However you have no pics of the belly. (I know, fussy ,fussy&#33

Sorry Rob, but on this one, despite trying to do the right thing, you are caught up. Customers can and will hold you hostage if you allow them to. Luckily , only one out of 100 customers is ever going to give you this degree of trouble. Most customers are just like you and I, they want quality animals at reasonable prices and they want it yesterday!
So heres my take on the solution:
Refund? Nope. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever. Sorry.

I beleive a poster earlier said you cant make everybody happy,
I think that is true here. As I said earlier, you sent alot of pics to him showing the turtles clearly, offered to send a different ones to swap out the on he didnt like and offered some money. Seems to me youve held out your hand in friendship , only to have it slapped away. Think to yourself, if this wasnt business, merely tradeing or bartering for good, would you go through all this? I think not. I wish you luck in all your endeavours and do not be dismayed, one bad expereince does not a reputation make.

                                             Sincerely,

                                          Fred

Glad to see you handled the matter. Personally, I would have been happy to give the customer "store credit" minus the 25% restocking fee which would go towards offsetting handling (customer) charges and quaranteen cost upon the animals return.

Hey Rob,

Just wanted to add my .02 and say that you did everything right sent them all the pics they wanted, told hem everything about the animals etc. . If they emaled you and sid they were happy with the animals and had them for a couple of weeks .... come on !!! I know you try and keep every one happy because a happy customer is a repeat customer, but there has to be a point where you draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough ! Sometimes you have to stop someone from taking advantage of YOU !!! You also have to think about what type of care the animals had when they were with the customer and how they were housed and things like that. You could very well be taking back sick animals and giving the guy his money back for making your animals sick ..... a distinct possibility ? And you shouldnt feel bad this guy is unhappy , it sounds to me like you made a good sale and you are in BUSINESS which some people forget and you cant always make everybody happy if what makes them happy is unreasonable. Dont sweat it Rob.

Agree with AztecFred

I agree with AztecFred that from a business view you should refund the money, However, make him pay for the return shipping in a container that you approve of, AND the turtles must be recieved in the sane condition that you shipped them in (and they are the SAME turtles!) to qualify for the refund!
