Allow me to briefly educate you on the topic of corporate filings and database searches, Ro- as you apparently know much, much less about this subject than you have given yourself credit for.
One can register a corporation in any given state. Varnyard can be a resident of FL, do business in FL, but have filed his Articles of Incorporation in an entirely different state. As such, his corporation would be deemed a foreign corporation. While foreign corporations are required to register with the FL Dept of State, their information is not contained in the publically searchable database. The same holds true for Illinois, and countless other states.
Unless you've combed through the databases of each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia, your suppositions about the
legitimacy or illegitimacy of one's corporate status hold no water whatsoever.
