Firefighters Save Alligator from House Fire

This happened in my home town last night. Yay for Firefighters!

Story:

A Parkersburg home is a complete loss, after the structure burst into flames Monday evening, but the story doesn't end there!

Parkersburg Fire Officials say they received a call that a house at 8th and Quincy Streets was fully engulfed in flames.

No people were in the home when the blaze broke out.

Officials say they have not ruled out foul play, and ask for you to call the fire or the police department if you have any information.

They say the home is a complete loss.

Now here's where it gets really interesting, firefighters got quite a surprise while battling that blaze.

There was a three-foot alligator on the third floor of the home, that escaped from a hole and landed on the second floor ledge, from there it fell to the ground.

Firefighters were then able to grab it and tape it's mouth shut until the owner's family came to pick it up.

They say it survived the blaze because of a pool of water on the third floor that kept it cool.

Pretty sweet, glad the little guy made it safe. It is devastating when a pet (regardless of what the pet is) should die because of a tragedy.

Good job for the firefighters! I honestly think that firefighters love saving animals more than police do! Remember the horrific accident that happened with the police officer that tried shooting a snake in a tree and shot and killed a little boy..? How tragic that was.... I still wonder why you'd honestly try shooting a damn snake in a tree.. why....?

Hello

Hello,

That is an incredible story. AT least they cared enough to help the poor thing, & I am glad he survived.
It is nice to know that there are still people out there who have a heart!!
