Of course it's going to happen.. prices go up. Mayber sooner than we think.
I've noticed over the last 6 months vendors raising costs. Anyone else noticing this?
As packaging costs raise, so do the costs for the product that goes into them. A lot does have to do with oil/petrol going up: stretch wrap, poly bags, foam, made from oil. Paper mills rumbling about increases.
so far this year, only in March now...
3 increases on bubble wrap/cushion foam/loosefill (aka packing peanuts), 7%, 8%, 5+%
1 increase on poly bags/static shielding bags 7%
3 increases in stretch wrap 12%, 8+%, 5+%
2 increases in poly and steel strapping 5+%, 8+%
lumber increases for pallets and crates
etc
Price increases have to start somewhere and that above is a part of it. Just a year and half ago packaging costs were going down... Retail usually trys to absorb some of the increases and hold off passing it on to the end user but it's just a matter of time.
ps cheapest gas I saw today was $3.95/gallon
