Beef hearts should be fine with most monitors, As I am in Australia native mnitors are all we can keep. Mine cope fine with beef hearts, chicken turkey and most other meats as long as you substitute some vitamins. Cat food is quite good as it contains quite a few of the necessary vitamins and minerals required by monitors however dog food should only be offered occasionally as it is too fatty (although dog food is useful for promoting faster growth but some studies suggest it may shorten the lifespan somewhat if fed regularly)
Hope you find this useful.

Email any questions you have and I`ll try to answer them.
Plenty of work here at the moment, accomodation is reasonably cheap but I would suggest a holiday first, you never know you might not like it!!!!!

Besides Australian reptiles are cheaper and easier to get in the U.S than they are here!!!!! I been thinkin` `bout movin there!!
And you cant bring your collection with you.
