Snake On Lam At Library

I would be interested to know exactly what this "Black python" is.
There's a video at the link, from this computer, such imbedded videos to not play.

COHASSET, Mass. -- An unwelcome visitor is roaming the aisles and stacks at the library in Cohasset.NewsCenter 5's David Boeri reported that a black python got out of its cage and slithered into the Cohasset Public Library.
Fithi, a 3-foot-long python, escaped from its cage at the Our World Museum eight days ago. The museum shares the same building as the library, and officials think the snake is hiding somewhere in the bookshelves.

"It could be anywhere within the building. They like warmth; it could be near water pipes, near the furnace," said Animal Control Officer Paul Murphy."
Anyone who thinks working at a library is dull is sadly mistaken," said librarian Jackie Rafferty. "
They're really in no danger in the library. It's really a pet snake."

Pythons kill their prey by squeezing it and do not pose a threat to humans. But circulation and visits to the library have been down since Fithi's escape.
"Other than a surprise element, which most of us would have if we're not expecting to see a snake, there's nothing to be worried about," said Rafferty.
The snake eats once every two weeks, and Fithi ate just before it went on the lam.

I wonder why they claim it is in the library. There is no mention of a sighting, and as the animal control officer mentioned, it could be anywhere in the building

If you listen to the video, it's a BALL Python, not a black python. And we all know how much Ball Pythons enjoy reading, so it's only logical that they would be somewhere in the bookshelves.

However, they have put a very positive view on the snake, reading to kids about snakes, and really trying to educate folks about how harmless and fascinating they are. I gotta give them credit for that much, even if the article can't get the name right.
