:( I have a simple question.Whats the usual prodedure to follow after recieving deceased animals.I recently purchased 6 snakes from this forum and a couple died the day i received them. The gentlman( i use the term loosely) agreed to replace them If i paid for shipping again. Is this the regular practice? To be honest I'm scared to death to do bussiness with him again and don't want anymore of his snakes, but he claimed this was an industry wide standard practice. Thanks for any input.

Stephen...Not even "close"! In the "honest" herp industry...if an animal dies right after receipt (depending on their guarantee), and the two parties agree that it wasn't the buyer's fault....then there is no reason that the buyer should have to spend another dime on something that he should have gotten alive and well the first time! That's ridiculous! ....Neil

I would have to agree with Neil on this one.

Those animals should of arrived alive the first time.

Maybe he wants the deceased animals back. If you don't know the "Gentlman" well, then it stands to reason he does not know you well and may need to verify the animals he thought were healthy actually died. Could all be an honest misunderstanding. I'd tell him you will gladly pay shipping to return the deceased bodies (I imagine you can use regular USPS if you wrap them well, after all, no worry about them dieing now, they already did) but that you will expect him to foot the bill for replacement animals. But only if they died the day you got them. If you had cared for them for any amount of time it would be different.

I appreciate the answers..Cheryl there never was any question about the dead animals, i had digital pictures taken that day and he didnt even want to see them. I also told him i didnt want replacement snakes. My dealings with him are done I was just curious about his statements on paying for shipping of replacement animals. thanks again

PErsonally I would pay the shipping, and probably stick and extra or a nicer animal in there.

Steven, You should not have to pay another dime to recieve what has already been paid for. I agree with you however, I would not want any additional animals from this person. He should refund the money for the two deceased animals in full.
