Mangrove

One of the underated species in my opinion, doesn't seem many people work with them.. I love mine.

I use to have one. I really enjoyed mine while I had it. Unfortunately I think mine was a WC and I wasn't as knowledgeable as I should have been on the species. I look forward to owning another one sometime in the future.

Mangroves are very nice, if a little more prone to problems initially. Knowing about them before you get them home is a big plus. They were one of 2 types of monitor that I used UV lighting for, and only for acclimating/rehabilitating weakened imports. Once they were going strong, I didn't bother. Another thing about mangroves is I found they did better at somewhat lower temps than those at which I kept many other monitors (basking area of around 95-100 as opposed to 120-130, depending on the species). Enjoy. (oh - don't forget to vary it's diet)

Thanks guys. I spoke to herpetologist before I got him about the care, he has had Mangroves before and basicly told me everything you told me, I vary his diet between Mice, Worms, Feeder snakes, and every now and then fish or crickets..

I use to buy mine feeder fish and would put them in his water tub. It's pretty hilarious watching them swim after the fish.
