Snake caught in fence

Can someone identify the species of snake this is?

Looks like an African Rock Python. Where did you find that picture? I knew they had large teeth but whew those are mighty big.

A friend of mine emailed me the photos.They are from the Exxon/Mobile compound in Luanda -Angola, Africa. This is a fence around the compound put there to keep animals, and people, out. There are several outside and inside strands that are electrified but the actual fence is not. I assume the charge from the electric fence made him strike at what was hurting him and he got his mouth caught. You can see from the patterns in the sand that he did not die instantly. Its a shame that something that has made it that long not bothering anyone had to die like that. Although I can see why they need the fence! And, yes, I squirm every time I think of those teeth!

Definitely, an African Rock...<sigh> now I want one again. They are actually great snakes, if you can get past their reputation (I used to have a bunch of them, between purchased and rescued)

Looks as if the snake was posed in that position. Look closely at both photos....
