Breeding questions..

Hello

Well i have two pairs put together right now. I introduced the female to the males enclosure. I was just wondering, can i see some pictures of a female ovulating? I look at their bellies and they look pinkish but i can't really say i know what i'm looking for!

I haven't noticed any tail wagging or anything of that sort. They are all over a year, and one pair being proven breeders last season with 12 clutches (thanks Jeanne!)

When do females ovulate and how often? I heard around april, but if this is true, how come some of you are popping out eggs now? Can she become gravid without ovulating?

My rack is blazzing and about a hot spot of 90-95 depending on the rooms temps. So i really don't think thats a problem. Everyone is eating fine and everything. Am i just impatient? Are their any tricks to the trade? My males won't tail wag. They lick her a few times, but when she scurries off he gives up.

I would recommend first of all to lower the hot spot to a max of 90.

It seems like the breeders in the south have a breeding season that begins sooner then up here in the North. Alot has to do with the temps and the light period. patience is key! And the worst part of it. If you don't see any action you can try taking the boys out for a few days then re-introduce them. Good luck!
