Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

I currently use and 'old-school' Canon Power Shot S10 2.1 megapixel. It's been a great camera, but I think I'm ready for a new one. I've been looking at the Fuji FinePix S5100 or S5500 4.0 mP w/10x optical - 3.6x digital, 38mm-360mm zoom. I like these because you can use them just like an SLR and choose automatic, manual, shutter priority, or aperature priority, as well as taking continuous pics and movies.
Hmmm... maybe if I'm a good girl, Santa will bring me one!

I use a Canon D30 DLSR with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. I need to get my hands on a 100mm f/2.8 macro lens and the macro flash, but I have other things to spend money on.

Terry

I use a Nikon CoolPix 4500. It’s 4 megapixels and has a 4x optical zoom. It’s well known for its macro shots. I love it!

OK, after reading the question correctly......
I'd love to have the new Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II - 16.7 megapixles of joy - $7,000.
On a more affordable level I'd like to get the Canon EOS 20D - 8.2 megapixels - $1,499.
My issue is that I invested a lot of money in a Canon 600mm f/4 for nature photography, other passion, and convincing my spouse that I need to spend thousands of dollars more is pushing it.
Regards,
Terry

I've been using a Fujifilm Finepix 2650 (2mp, 3xopt) for the last 2 years. It's a very entry level camera, but is super easy to use and doesn't eat batteries. It can take some decent macro shots too.
I'm hoping Santa brings me a Finepix S5100 this year. :deer:

Tery have you ever made digital pictures with your canon by doing the thing where you get the picture CD back? i was wondering on the quality of the pictures taken with a nice non digital and then digitalized. As my brother has some kind of Canon Rebel (real nice...i want it) and it takes amazing pictures but i do not know if the photo is reduced in quality by a lot.

I have a 5 mp Sony DSC 707. I'm not sure what I want to up grade too yet, but I'm thinking of going with one of the Canon or Nikon SLRs. I thought I'd include the following link. It has fantastic reviews of almost every digital camera out there.
