Indigo snake won't eat

I have a 2 year old Texas indigo that stopped eating .Was eating great now stopped since fall any answers to make him eat .

Check your temps, first. Winter in NY can easily throw off a snakes feeding pattern. I'm not very familiar with them; but I think they brumate...if so, and you're sure he's healthy, put him down for 6 weeks or so.

they do brumate, although most people don't bother with letting them. I believe with texans, you want to raise the temp a little bit threw winter.

Agreed...but, having fought the battle with other species, sometimes (depending on one's setup) it's easier to just let it happen once they're not eating.


I was going to mention that you look funny with CA in your profile....then realized what it said, and you won. lol)

Utta's indigos are gorgeous, I wish we could have brought them with us to CA. Such amazing and cool snakes, even if they are, um, messy.

I love my indigo's. They're really amazing snakes.

I hope you can get yours to eat.

My indigo that wasn't eating is now eating great .Problem needed more heat thanks for the advice.
