Nice looking snake. Too bad it's a boy or I'd be eyeing it covetously.

Thumbs up KING COBRAS hip hip...hoo-ray!

Kings are such a great animals. Impressive beast, Ray! Here's a few shots I took this evening of my breeding pair. The male is pushing 13ft, and the female is 12ft. I introduced them 2 or 3 weeks ago, and they've been courting heavily. The king cobra waltz is an interesting and beautiful thing. I've never bred kings before. I also missed it last year. This year I have my fingers crossed. My female is huge right now, so I'm just hoping for the best.

male pursuing female up branch - photo taken from outside the enclosure

male hood portrait - my male is incredibly docile and curious. when I opened the door to take the shot he prompty investigated as he usually does. He really is intelligent. The only time he has appeared grumpy is when I approach him wearing an american flag doo-rag. Weird.

the submissive female - she looks pretty thick and scheduled to be fed tomorrow

portrait flash male - looks to be saying, "What, huh?" Isn't he a cute?

I'm so proud of my kids!

COBRAMAN
AWESOME PHOTOS!!! Have you bred Kings before? I am planning on breeding Kings and Indian Cobras. I will have to brush up my breeding skills first. Actually, I will have to aquire breeding skills (all I know is venom production and a little of the import and wholesale trade)

All the very best to you.

This is my first time breeding kings, so this is pretty important to me.

As far as Naja in general, they are about as difficult to breed as growing grass. Make sure your females are well fed and I begin introducing males in october. Cooling works, but it's not required to be successful breeding them. I didn't cool my Naja this year.

That haje is extremely exceptional. I'll post pics of my specimen under that thread tomorrow.

Peace! Love! ....and Cobras!
