Egg Color Change????

hey guys,

i was wondering. it is about a month after my female panther chameleon laid her eggs and well for the first few weeks, they looked great. but recently they started to wrinkle up a lot. and also the color from a beige color changed a little darker. i added some water drops about each eggs but what about the color change? please help me out guys. thanks

Howdy Santho,

Did this female have a chance to mate before these eggs were laid? If you are following the usual methods of incubating chameleon eggs then it is likely that they were not fertile and that is why they are collapsing. ANy errors in incubating them could also be the cause.

no she didnt mate before then because i had her when she was a juvenile. i took these pics last nite. but yea now that im reading on it more, they might be not fertile. but im not going to do anything until im certain. thanks for the help. appreciate it.

The eggs are not fertile then.

If she is still a virgin, then why would you keep the eggs.

It's like a females menstrual cycle.

There isn't even a reason to candle eggs like this when the female has never been mated.
Besides, candling usually only gives certain results after diapause has been broken and the development of the empryo has begun.
