Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

East coast colubrids Peter Jolles
I sent this email to Peter Jolles at East Coast Colubrids
kevin ferrell <kferrell25@yahoo.com> wrote:
How much could I get a pair for. Could you do $180 shipped for a pair.
Kevin
This is what I got back
Peter S Jolles <peterjolles@eastcoastcolubrids.com> wrote:
How about this -
Don't bother me with ridiculous and silly offers. If you want cheap than go buy from Reptile Depot.
I don't like my animals to go to people that haggle over price. Shows me you don't care about the animals.
You are blackballed and are not allowed to purchase from East Coast Colubrids.
Don't ever contact me again.
- Peter
So i sent a reply anyway to try to smooth things out because I had heard he was a good guy and I wasn't trying to cause any problems anyway. So I sent this email
kevin ferrell <kferrell25@yahoo.com> wrote:
Sorry everybody I deal with haggles prices. Usually if you buy a pair they give you a little discount. Didn't mean to cause a problem. You have a good rep in the business I am surprised to recieve such a harsh email from simply asking about price.
Kevin
Then he sent me this

Kevin,
Go put it up on the BOI you crybaby.
I told you NEVER TO CONTACT ME AGAIN.
I meant it.
Leave me alone.
- Peter
I don't know what I did wrong. They were advertised on Kingsnake and the East Coast Colubrids site for $95 dollars each plus shipping. So that would make a pair a little over $200 shipped. I have seen two other people asking for $160 shipped for a pair. Like I said I have always haggled price and I have had people negotiate price with me for stuff I was selling I thought it was part of the business. I have even negotiated face to face at shows I don't know what the problem was.

Well if you have seen then cheaper else where then go buy them else where. $95 per a blood isn't bad at all! I've seen them for A LOT more money and I'll admit that those others I've seen were really not even close to "all that". I'll also jump up and say I just bought a blood from Peter J less then a week ago and didn't have a problem -at all-. He was a fast with responding to all my emails and questions, great over the phone, and spectacular in person! His snakes where all is great conditions and awesome looking. I had a really hard time picking and choosing a snake. Does this post make me think any less of him? Nope, not at all. I'm not a fan of people who try to "haggle" prices with me. Reminds me of a car salesman *cringe*. Not worth it at all IMHO. Will I be buying from him again - you betcha!

Peter was direct and to the point!
Not very hard to figure out what his email to you meant. he does not want to haggle and he does not want to sell to you!
Sorry he hurt your feelings.

I have dealt with Peter before and found him quite easy to work with. While most sellers do not mind a little bit of a haggle, the animals were posted for $95 each plus shipping. That would make a pair $190 plus shipping for a total of approximately $240 to $250 shipped. Based on the asking price, your offer was way below a normal offer. While i agree that Peter's response was a little strong, you have to expect a little annoyance when you lowball like that.

Its poor customer service plain and simple.
No rationalizing. No excuses.
A simple no thank you would have sufficed.
Cross this guy off your list and move on.

i agree that it would not have been my response in a similar situation. My standard response to offers of that sort is:
"Thanks for the inquiry but no thanks"

This thread on the BOI only made me want to do business with Peter in the future. No nonsense. I like that. Besides, his response to you was a riot! Well done...

IMO. Peter was rude and he won't get any business from me.
Peter came off like a jerk.

You may have just been the straw that broke the camels back~ I've recently had a similar situation in which someone offered me considerably less than my asking price for something that I felt I was already offering for a very good price. I simply said "no thank you" But he wrote me back this weekend to make a slightly better offer~ to which I had a very difficult time not being snide and rude. I think I pulled it off (though snide may have come into play a bit~ I don't think I was rude).
Sometimes as a seller when you get 20 emails wasting your time, asking questions you already answered in the ad or suggesting your price is too high.........it becomes very difficult to remember good customer service. You may have just gotten on this sellers last nerve with your low ball offer.
Try leaving him alone. Next time he has something you want for sale~ try approaching him again with an offer a bit closer to his asking price.
Good luck
