Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Porn Spammers MUST DIE!!!
You guys sick of these losers yet! I get more porn spam than any other mail or IMs. I must get at least 75 emails a day with only %25 of it being relative to me personally or my business. I know because of the fact that I use the AOL Reptile chat room, they get my screen name and send that garbage away. I'm just tired of it and was wondering if any of you know how I could weed some of it out. Someone had mentioned sifting out emails using certain key words but how do I do this? I mean, I'm all for porn if your the one looking for it, but man these guys have no scruples of what they send to anyone. In the AOL reptile chat they spam everyone, even the children under 18-12 which is disturbing to me. Any help on diverting some of this spam is appreciated! Thanks

If your email program has filters, you can set it up so that the emails with certain words or from certain people automatically goes into certain folders or the trash even I would guess. Since I don't use the AOL chatrooms, or AOL for that matter, I haven't had a problem with such spam....so I'm not sure how well the filters work. I do know my husband has the ones for his computer setup for his newgroups and is very happy with them, but I'm guessing it differs greatly between email programs...
Good Luck getting rid of the spam!

I understand completely. My hotmail account is bombarded by porn emails daily. I've set my filter to the highest setting so that all unknown emails get sent to the junkmail folder. I check through those and pull out the ones that aren't junkmail and add them to my contacts or safe lists so that emails from those people in the future are routed to the inbox thereafter. The rest are deleted with the click of one button. The only way I've found to get SOME of them to stop emailing is to actually open the email and select 'unsubscribe', but that doesn't work for all of them. You can also block senders' email addresses, at least, you can in hotmail. As for how they get your email, some of it is spidering, some of it is that your email addy has been shared or sold by companies you do use, and - in the majority of the ones I'm getting - something you were signed up for. In my case, I pissed off a guy on a totally different kind of forum last year and his payback was to use my email addy on these sites. I managed to unsubscribe from most of them, threatened to contact his provider if he didn't immediately stop with his emails and the porn, and most of the rest stopped. He's back this year, still holding a grudge evidently, and voila!, I'm getting spammed with porn again. (And you're right, it's appalling some of the stuff they send!)

I also have a hotmail account that gets obscene (no pun) amounts of junk mail. One of the better filters I have heard of is to filter the little copyright symbol. I filter any email with "uffern" in the subject. I don't know of any really good way to stop junk email.
BTW, a lot of those junk emailers will simply see your hitting unsubscribe as a verification that your email address is active, and will sned even more spam.

You could probably filter out the word "unsubscribe" if you know you're not subscribed to anything to begin with.

Mail Washer - Spam Blocker
Hey there,
This Mailwasher might help you out, it's great - I've been using it for years. It's like ammo for the war on spam!
In fact, (been wanting to do this for awhile now...)
I'm putting it up on our front page so you guys can download it; www.satyrdayreptiles.com
It's a program that works with your email; anything that's a POP3 account.
Basically, it's a little "quick link" that sits on the bottom of your start menu. If you want, you can set it so that it checks your email automatically every x number of minutes, or just check it whenever you want. It allows you to preview every email you get, before actually downloading the whole thing to your email program. You can catch most virus emails with this tool, and delete them on the spot.
The best part, (ahhhh... Revenge! ... well, sort of.)
First, you can simply delete the unwanted email and, if they're that annoying - you can bounce it right back to them! Usually bouncing it back enough times will get you off their list.
If anything, it saves time, and it's kind of theraputic - hahaha!
It's a free program, but the guy who made it asks for a couple bucks - help him out, it's a great utility!
Best of luck,
Liz

But...but..but...
~ ...I don't have one of those!!!!
~If I get one more email boasting a wonderful, proven way to enlarge my penis, I will scream!!! I get at least, 4 of those a day.
~Yes, I do my own home repairs/auto repairs and I do have a better tool chest and better power tools than most guys I know. I can operate heavy equipment and drove a 10 wheel dump truck. I can kick some serious butt as well as most any man.....but THEY don't know that!
~Now that i know about using the trigger word in the spam filters, I know just what word I will use. Thanks.
~So, tell me gentlemen, is it really so important to be able to say " Mine is bigger that yours", that guys really fall for these "products"?
