Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Injured Ball Python
I recieved a rescue ball python today and I am not sure what the problem is. A portion of her body is almost flat and she can about bend in both directions there. This would lead me to think that it was her back. However the animal shows no sign of parylization. She is a import and is a little thin, but the person whose care she was in said that he had had her for a little while and that she ate fine. I have a feeding card for her and if its correct then the problem has been present for a period of time. She is a juvenile and right before the body flattens the spine feels bumpy but it never feels broken.
Here are a couple pictures but it is hard to capture on camera the extent of the damage. I was wondering also if anyone had ever used a splint on a snake and if so any pointers. Thanks for your time.

I know this aint much help, but personally I would be taking the snake to a vet. That is the only way you are going to find out the full extent of that snakes problems.

I've never seen anything like that... I've seen broken ribs, but it was nothing like that. Take it to a vet, get x-rays? I'm not sure what else to say.. Can she eat???

I was told she eats fine. The animal acts like nothing is wrong, she moves around fine.

This may sound weird, but iv seen a snake like that before. it was double jointed. The Brian Barczyck had it come out of one of his clutches, and the snake looked like about 3 inches of its back had been run flat by a bike tire. But that wasnt the case. come to find out, he went to check on it latter, and it was normal. ate fine and everything. and then a day or two passed, and pop! it was back to double jointed. as far as i know it is still alive and fine. Hopefully that is the case with your snake. if its broken back or ribs, then that may be harder to fix. good luck!
