CHINO HILLS- Don Wilson, principal of Rolling Ridge Elementary School, was bitten by a rattlesnake Friday afternoon after he tried to catch the animal.
Firefighters with the Chino Valley Fire District responded to a call of a snakebite about 4:30 p.m. at the school, at 13677 Calle San Marcos in Chino Hills.
On arrival, firefighters found the principal suffering from a snake bite on one of his fingers, Firefighter/Paramedic Pete Morales said.
The principal was airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center for treatment. He is expected to survive. Firefighters killed the snake for safety reasons and positive identification, Morales said.
