I don't ever remember anyone selling captive bred EASTERN TIGER SALAMANDERS on Caudata. Prove it.

..

The person that I bought them from told me they were bought on that website. I'm not sure who he got them from though. They were on Craigslist a few years ago when I picked them up. 2 available still $125, shipped.

They are not captive bred. No one in the US has captive bred that kind of tiger salamander.

That's false! I've bred Blue spotteds and Eastern Tigers myself. I got out of the hobby a few years ago but wanted to get back into it but had a change of heart. Ambystoma Keeper's group on Facebook shows dozens of people captive breeding Tiger salamanders of all subspecies all over the world. California, Barred, Easter, Grey, It's easier then what people think.

Breeding ambystoma is also harder than what a lot of people think. But if someone has done it in the USA there's been no posting of photos or a (how to) tutorial. Trust me it's not plain and simple.

..

When I bred them I put 2 at a time in shoebox sized rubbermaid containers, had them in my basement 40-50 degrees farenheit, waited for the first rainfall outside and after it was above freezing, after that I sprayed the tiger salamanders down with water once a day for a few days, put the males first in 30 gallon totes 3/4 full of water with sticks and leaves, then I put in the females a couple days after and got eggs, simple as that.
