New skink...nurturing back to health

My evil cat caught a fairly large Southeastern 5-lined skink this afternoon. It's about 6 inches without a tail (for now) and seems to be really fat. Is there anything I can do to speed up the healing process?

I bought it a glass tank with cypress mulch, a hollow tree log, and a basking lamp. I gave it some elder box bugs and 2 black ants for dinner, but i'm not sure if it'll eat em.

P.S First post! I'm in Franklin, Tennessee. South of Nashville.
