Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Home Made WeedKiller
I made my own weedkiller that is safe for pets and children and wildlife. 1 gallon white vinegar, add one cup of salt and a tablespoon of dishwashing detergent and mix. Put in sprayer. Leaves started dying off with in 20 min. 6 hours later almost completely dead. Going to make more to hit some areas a little harder. Cheap to make also!

Awesome. I tried some concentrate from tractor supply and wasn't happy. Are you spraying it on pretty heavy?

NOPE! only foliage, there is nothing in the mix to be drawn into the root system
That is the primary function of weed killers, slow absorption via foliage.

Seriously, any weed killer that DOESN'T kill the roots is effectively only pruning the weeds and giving you more work to do later on. You could do the same job with a weed whacker a WHOLE lot quicker. And just the same, the weeds WILL be back.
I've had some patches of poison ivy around here that I've been using Roundup's product specific to poison ivy on with great results. Seems to kill the plants, roots and all and I have very little trouble with come backs. Matter of fact, I found some more alongside the roadway I need to take care of before they produce berries with seeds that the birds will disperse when they eat them.
I've used this product on some other plants with mixed results. Seems the larger the root system, the harder it is to kill the entire plant. I've got some wisteria that got away from us and it's a nightmare trying to track down all those rhizomes under the ground.

If you use it several times heavily it will make soil sterile for several months. I use it more for killing an inch or so along fence lines and under neath sides of porch. Was told if you use about every other week it keeps things down nicely. About a dollar a gallon. Took around 1.5 gallon to get everything heavily done then should use less than a gallon each maintenance run.

This has so far worked well for me. It has drastically cut down on weed whacking. Also does well on rock garden area in back yard. I had forgot to put the sprayer away the other day and left on back porch. My male was licking rainwater off it. So glad I didnt have chemicals in it!
