Blizzard+Patternless=result?

I'm trying to figure out who in my gang, should go with who for the best babies. I am not looking to develop a new morph, I just want to produce some beautiful babies!
I have a huge blizzard boy, Bruce. I have a Patternless female (not of age yet though) that I am thinking I'd like to breed to him. How does that work? Blizzard to Patternless? And does it work? I don't know what Bruce and Nasty Girl(she loved to terrorize me when I was cleaning her cage by chasing the fingers around the cage biting, she has grown out if it but the name stuck. She is now very sweet) are het for.

Is there a web site with good info about this? I am not interested in the science part of it, I just need a dummy's guide to breeding great looking Leos!

Thanks to all!

breeding those 2 together would produce normal looking babies het for both patternless and blizzard.

Shannan...

Blizzards are a challenge to work with when it comes to crossing them with any other morph. A couple of good websites for calculating genetics are:

Gecko Genetics Wizard
Leopard Gecko Genetics Calculator
Gecko Genetics Pages

why? its a simple recessive gene. do you feel that a blizzard is less likely to breed with say...an albino than another blizzard? i dont see why it would be more challenging.

chad..

to date, the only blazing blizzards to be produced were done so by using the Tremper albino gene. Others have tried the bell strain and the rainwater strain, and so far no luck. I believe I remember Kelli telling me last year in a phone conversation that even Mark Bell himself hasn't had any luck in getting blazing blizzards using his own personal albino strain. So far he's only done it with the Tremper line. Even more food for thought, if crossing blizzards into other traits were so simple, then why are we not seeing more blazing blizzards, etc? The cross (albino X blizzard) itself has been going on since breeders have had both morphs. Just because a trait is a simple recessive doesn't mean that crossing that trait to other traits won't result in a combination of both traits. Especially if one trait cancels the other or results in a lethal combination.

There are more of them out there than you may think. Someone has been saving them up. Watch for them to be available very soon. Tremper line that is.

i think you meant to say "...will result in a..."

if the two traits exsist on different locus' within the chromosome then they can co-exsist. sometimes you wont see a difference becuse one trait will cover the other but they will not cancel each other out.

as far as fatal combinations... ive heard of this...but would like to hear some examples...because thus far i have never heard any specific examples.

Getting a blizzard to breed with another morph is not the challenge... it's getting that "simple recessive gene" to express itself when crossed with another morph.
