New Gecko...

I got a new gecko at Petco and I know he's albino, but what else is he? Sorry I'm so ignorant but I did try to find a picture of something that looked like him. I didn't see any other babies that looked like this. I've tried to put the picture up here, hopefully it worked. The stupid employee picked him up by his tail (I actually don't know the gender, but anyways...) I about died when he did that. I was just waiting for it to break off. Thanks for your help!

It's not an albino, it's a patternless.

Hi KatieM- It looks like a patternless to me.
Nice looking little one!!!
I have obtained several very healthy beautiful Leos from the PetCo in the past 2 years.

OK so I know even less than I thought. Thanks for your help! I liked his color even though his toes are in bad shape right now. Hopefully they'll get better with better care.

I'm sorry to hear that the little one has a problem with it's toes-what exactly is the problem with them?
Sometimes a bad shed will cut the circulation off on toes and can actually amputate them.
Make sure that the little one has a nice moist hide to shed in.

Of course to further complicate things -many blizzards (they are sometimes called banana blizzards) also have a golden color to their bodies
I guess they must have named the patternless first 'cause the blizzard also has no spots as an adult and they are born without any spots.
First is a pic of one of my patty's
and next is an old one of one of my patty's and one of my blizzards,

Thanks Sandra. Yours are great-looking! You can see in the picture a little bit, but some of his toes look sore from a bad shed (or something?) but I've given him a source of moisture so hopefully that will help prevent problems in the future.

Thank you so very much for the compliment.
If I had looked at the feet in the pic of your little one(duh) I could have seen the little bits of shed still stuck to the toes.
You can take a q-tip moistened with warm water and gently rub the skin to help it come off or with the increase of humidity it just might fall off.
If the toes appear red-I would opt for trying the q-tip method.

And Katie, you really need to get that shed off her toes as soon as possible, or she'll lose more toe tips. soak each of her feet one at a time in a little cup of warm water. work the shed loose with the q-tip. if water doesnt do it, rub Neosporin on her toes. That will loosen the shed.

Either way, once the shed is off you need to put Neosporin on the brown toes (I see two on her right foot for sure) very day until there is new healed skin at the tips of those toes. The brown parts are dead and will fall off, but if you don't keep Neosporin on them, the brown deadness could take over more of the toe.

Take my advice and NEVER buy a gecko or any pet for that matter from petco to adviod this mess in the first place.
