Last smile before shedding

After shedding he is much more colorfull of course... but also much faster and more interested in the camera (wants to "taste" it each time he sees it) so the close-up photos are blurry. Well, I have a few years to try and get a clear one

FANTASTIC MACRO SHOT!

The detail in that left EYE is STUNNING! What a nice shot. What camera are you using? Thanks for posting!

Thanks.
I use a Canon PowerShot A70 with the flash off and the macro function on.

I think the most difficult is to get the gecko to stop moving... most of my close-ups are blurry.

I put the circular thingy on the top on automatic and then I go to the 4 knobs on the right of the screen. When you press on the flash button you can change from automatic flash to constant flash to no flash and the little flower below is the macro switch. Press on it, when you are in macro mode there is a little flower on the screen.

But I really think the most difficult is getting the gecko to stay still. Mine is fascinated by technology, he watches TV and the computer screen, and has to "taste" the camera is I put it in front of his nose. Very soon I will have to create an email address for him...

LOL That got him to think long enough for me to take another picture...
But now I am having second thoughts about setting up an email account for him... he already gives me orders (I want to eat NOW, I want to go out NOW..) and if he receives that kind of email he won't let me get anywhere near the computer anymore. That would be tough on me.

Okay, after a very very long fight, I could not get the photo small enough to upload directly here (it is wide instead of long ). I gave up and put it on: https://webfiles.uci.edu/cbeeton/Pho...newly_shed.jpg
