Sorry to hear about the tortoise, and your dilemma with this character.

Some advice, contact the site where you saw the ad, that led you to the purchase of the tortoise, let them know the condition of the animal in question, his lack of caring, and lack of making it right.

Lynn, I have done so, but no response yet. It was Kingsnake BTW. I just submitted the abuse report this morning, so may get a reply soon. The guy currently has six ads out there right now.

I figure he'll disappear and pop up with a new username or something.

Really disappointing, because everyone else I've met in the tortoise loving community are really good people who care a lot about the tortoises.

Paypal's Claim process is a sham, with three rounds of pushback, escalating with additional reasons they wouldn't do anything from "the seller says the tortoise is healthy which is good enough for us" to we don't do anything about live animal transactions to file a claim with IC3.

Probably going to go ahead and file the claim, though I don't expect anything out of it. But Kingsnake has lost my business and I'm certainly not going to use Paypal for any transaction of tangible size.

A couple years ago I was ripped off for $2200 by a guy in San Diego. I went through the same process they're asking you to go through by filing a claim with IC3, with that filed and the proof that I had, they banned him, and told the scammer they would reinstate his account when he made it right with me~~Needless to say he's still banned.

My point & advice, GO FOR IT, it may KEEP him from advertising on KS (his last resort)

I filed the IC3 complaint just now. Don't expect much out of it, but will notify Kingsnake and hope they stop publishing this guy's ads.

I'm not a betting man, but I'm willing to bet this is him, with yet another email address, advertising on a website that has banned him because of his alias's, and sales tactics.

No update. Tim/Mike/Xiao/? has not replied of course. The only real news is that I received the full vet files. The tortoise was diagnosed with diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection, renal (kidney) failure, pneumonia and conjunctivitis (pinkeye).

The him to say that tortoise was healthy was ludicrous and a flat out lie.
