Feeding newborns

Anone have some tips or suggestions on getting newborn kenyans feeding?

How soon after shed, time of day, scenting, etc.?

When mine were neonates, i offered them their first meal as soon as they had their first shed and i was lucky, all of them readily accepted the f/t pinkies i offered them. I did not have to use any sort of scenting techniques or "braining" of the pinkies to get them to feed.

As to the time of day, i always offer their prey items during the evening, as that is the time when they will be most active.

I have had some very finicky sand boas over the years. I have treid live, thawed, brained, scented and then I started breeding African Soft Furred Rats. ASR pinks are very small and all my picky eaters took them with gusto. I place my picky neonates in a deli-cup with about 1/2" of aspen so they can burrow and place the live rodent on top of the bedding and put them in a dark quiet area overnight, most of the time they are gone by morning.
