Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

It means every snake from a het to het pairing has a 66% possible chance of being het for the recessive mutation in question.
Example:
het Albino (1 allele) x het Albino (1 allele)
=
Albino (2 alleles)
&
Normals 66% possible het (1 allele) Albino
offspring
66% het is used because statistically 66% of the normal offspring should be het for the recessive mutation.
75% of a clutch from a het to het pairing will be normal
50% of that 75% will carry the recessive allele
divide 50%/75%
equaling your statistical chances

Also,
tangerine 66% amelanistic, 66% hypo and 66% anery x tangerine 66% amelanistic, 66% hypo and 66% anery
Would show you if any of the snakes are actually carrying the same genes (amel, hypo & anery). If when paired, they produce one of them, that proves that they are hets for one or more of the mutations.
tangerine 66% amelanistic, 66% hypo and 66% anery x albino
This pairing would be another way to test for Amel in the 66% individual.

Dirk, I know that our site is hosted for free, but I've got a breakdown of genetics on there that is quite understandable and workable as a starting point for further understanding. The site URL is http://double-d-reptiles.tripod.com/genetics.html (may have to cut & paste to get it to work) and about 5 years ago was the only listed online resource for discussing animal genetics in a mid-high level textbook here in the US, so can't be too terribly bad. It was based upon corn snake basics as we were working with them much more at that time and needs a lot of updating using a second, more advanced genetics page but I haven't had enough time these past 2 or 3 years to do it correctly and there are a couple of other things that I'd rather take care of first. Hope this helps.
