The Alabama Game & Fish Department (ADCNR) has published its annual regulations for the 2023-2024 hunting and fishing season. A page titled "Invasive Species" asks the public to report sightings of "prohibited non-native invasive species such as the tegu ...". Furthermore it states, "It takes all citizens in Alabama to help us manage and protect our native ecosystems from these non-native invasive species." Other reptiles are also mentioned. Of course the ADCNR has no plans for management of non-native eco-injurious invasive species such as house cats, armadillos, coyotes, hogs, and others. Their focus is on many reptile species including a number not mentioned in this particular page.
