Lightbulb Collie mix

I am interested to see any pictures of collies (rough) mixed to other breeds. I am interested in pictures, traits, temperment, and anything else you might want to add about the dog.

Just curious as to why you are looking into specific mixes with collies, there are so many collies available from rescues, why are the mixed ones appealling to you, is there a specific trait you are seeking from such a mix?

No, I'm not looking to buy one either. This is purely curiosity. Actually, my parents are in the process of buying a Collie from a local breeder right now.

Have you ever considered checking into a breed rescue for a Collie? I did a quick search for "Collie rescue in NC" and came up with a BUNCH of rescues.

Would it be possible to create a larger Collie by selectively breeding the largest ones to largest ones generation after generation? Would this cause a lot of health problems being that the dog would be bigger? Serious?

That is how it would be done. Keep in mind, however, that it is a commonly known fact that the "giant" breeds to have a much shorter life span than the smaller breeds, mainly because of the added stress of their structure. You have to look at problems that Collies are already more prone to, would the larger size increase those problems? You also cannot breed on size alone, as the dogs that you are breeding at each pairing should be not only large, but good specimens of the breed, and show no physical nor genetic problems or defects.
