Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Please help! Leo not eating
I have had my Leo for 8 months. I have always fed him mealworms, about 5-6 a day. He would usually eat them right away and even out of my hand. About 5-6 days ago I noticed that he wasn't eating his worms at all, and when I tried to dangle one in front of his face he acts scared and walks back into his hide. The local reptile shop told me to try crickets instead of the worms, so yesterday I bought some crickets and put 3 in his cage. I saw him eat 1, he may have eaten 2 though. But then today when I tried feeding him, he saw the crickets and was completely uninterested.
Just to let you know, I have not switched cages or anything, and his temps have been about 85 in the hot spot and about 75 in the cool. I have had the temps like this ever since I got him. So I don't think that has anything to do with him not eating.
I am really worried about him and don't know why he is acting like this all of the sudden and I need to know what I should do.
Please help!
Thanks,
Samantha

Is he getting ready to shed? They tend to lose thier appetite during that time. If his appetite doesn't get better soon I would have a fecal test done on him.

Although you have been keeping him at 85 degrees on the warm side, it should be more like around 90-92 degrees. Has he been a single gecko all the time you've had him? The reason I ask is that if there is an ovulating female around, most males lose interest in food. Has be been defecating at all? At this point if he is eating anything, even if it's one cricket, that's a good sign.

He just shed about 10 days ago, and he has always eaten around the time that he sheds.
He is the only Leo I have, and I have his cage in a separate room from all my other reptiles.
He has gone to the bathroom 1 time in the past week. Usually he would go once a day or so..

Hhhmmmm, have any of your Meal Worms turned into Beetles in his tank? They can molt in their tanks, I've seen it and then I saw the Gecko eat it! lol Try a Meal Worm. Not more then two maybe three a week. They are seriously addicting to Leos. Then he really won't want his other food. All I do for variety is put a pinch of Meal Wormjs in their dish, one Meal Worm and then a few Crickets. That usually gets em goin.

A few days ago one of the worms turned into a beetle, it kept walking right by him but he was uninterested. How long can he go without eating before I should take him to a vet?

If you are concerned there is something wrong with him, it's always better to take them in sooner than later. If nothing else, having a fecal done is always a good idea, an then if the vet looks him over and tells you he's fine.....you can feel relieved. On the other hand, if the vet does find something wrong, like a parasite load.....he can be treated before it REALLY gets to be a problem.

Yeah Cat, I meant Wax Worm. I wasn't paying attention. If your concerned with his weight you can monitor that with a Scale, if your concerned with his health over all I'd get a fecal done. My Vet charges $18.00.

Quick question, is the he a he Leopard Gecko or is it a she? If he is a she, she could be ovulating.
