Just judging be the picture (although the lighting could be better) he looks to be a very nice yellow normal. He probably has been a stinker to get to eat while breeding, huh? He looks like he could use just a few more groceries and he'll be at a really good weight to do it again for you next time around.

My males don't eat much when they are breeding either, so they're playing "catch-up" right now too, though by the looks of it mine are much bigger than yours. How old is he and what's his name (if you name yours-I do, I'm a sap!)?

His name is balboa. What do you mean by lighting? If you think the colors are dark because of lighting those are his real colors. I have a normal female and he just dosn't look anything like her nor any other normals i've seen. I just have a weird leo i guess He is a bugger to feed sometimes but he took a Super Worm today along with his three playmates. I'm just surprised on how fast he caught on to the idea of i wanted him to breed. The first minute i put him in there he went after the SHTCT and the Tangerine Tornado. I thought the SHTCT was a male at first because you could see the pores but ya after she had no interest in any of the females and Balbao started after her we learned that we have a female. Who is actually pregnant right now and should be giveing eggs in a couple weeks

Oh, I wasn't accusing you of playing with the lighting, please don't think that. The picture just looks like it doesn't do him justice. I bet he's much different in person.

Dig his name! Hope he makes you some eye-popping babies and you know everyone will want pictures!

So is it a normal or a high yellow? Or is there some third thing that will make this even more confuseing?

A high-yellow, for all intents and purposes, is a normal, although an exceptionally nice one! That is why you see people buying the nicest animals they can for their breeding projects. A lot of times that means buying for color- hence the term "high-yellow".
