Looking to breed something again

Thinking of breeding something again but not large scale, something that I like for personal pets, but may help pay a bill here and there.........I’ve got a male Xmas Mountai Bull/Gopher so kinda think about finding a female, I may do a pair of Black Pines, or Trans Pecos Rats.............I’ve become quite interested in the Peters Banded Skinks...........would be cool to be a part of getting them to breed and possibly get them away from wild caught only status...................

I love all reptiles, well all animals, but I got my favs.

I’m 45, have bred hundreds of Beardeds, Leopards, Cresteds, just common stuff when it was more lucrative and I had more time.

Now I’ve only got 3 snakes lol, single and full time job, or else I would be raising a group of Ackies or something that take more time.

Anyways, the ones I mentioned up top are some always on my mind, also thought about Mexican Black Kings but maybe ppl would be turned off by the biting IDK.

I’m in Bakersfield California and lots of species do good here without extreme added heat, such as bulls and rats and such.

Eventualy I would like to try Ruffous Beaked Snakes and Tiger Rats but really want nice big enclosures for them and space is limited.

So basically I want to breed again, for the excitement and old feelings I miss, but with a species I really want for myself, for pets, but something that may produce enough value to others if I successfully breed them.............just to help support my hobbies lol. Even if it’s just once a year.

Any thoughts?

Maybe spend 400-1000

If you got questions just ask, I’m half asleep and just kinda brain storming.

My advice is to look first at species you really like, and then evaluate those species for marketability.
Otherwise, the hobby will probably become a drag for you.

well yeah thats what i was pretty much stating in the post, listing the ones I like, but being that i really like the majority of them, was just wondering if you guys were to drop 400-1000 on something thats sought after but not as overwhelmed in the hobby already, and then i could see if thats something ive wanted to work with too. Also if you think the ones I already mentioned would be a good choice.

I hear ya, i was heavy into it for years, but got out, now just putting my toe in the water a bit and looking for opinions.

thanks bud.
