Hunter bitten on head by venomous snake hanging above him from tree

A Mississippi hunter was taking the last of his dog pack back to a truck on Wednesday evening when he encountered a flooded ditch. He found a narrow spot where he could jump across. When he leaned forward to jump, he felt a severe pain on the left side of his head.

"As soon as I leaned forward it was, 'Bam,'" said Tyler Hardy of Philadelphia, Miss.. "As soon as it hit me I thought it was some sort of massive impact he struck me so hard.

"I thought somebody had shot me or hit me with an axe.

I am a lot more careful of low hanging trees than I used to be since I have actually seen a number of asp caterpillars on tree limbs.
I too am interested in Todd's explanation of his comment.

Two posts in almost seven years, and one is profanity. I doubt that Todd is interested in contributing anything positive to the discussion.

Whenever other members comment about avoiding situations like that hunter, I think that I would be in big trouble if we moved to a warmer area! A life-long midwesterner, we don't have much here that can hurt you, and winters are brutal.

I'd be happily, if somewhat clumsily, traipsing through the woods and fields, oblivious to what may try to bite me!

I bet Todd's fun to have at parties.... I'm not sure why the comment but not enough to worry about dwelling on.

Back in 1973 I had a friend bit on his upper lip from a juvie pygmy rattlesnake crawling under bushes. Luckily for him very little venom and 3 days or so in hospital. Looked no worse than getting a good punch in face.

Ended up with a couple weeks of being a celebrity in Orlando, Fl.
