breeding question

I know along the way i made a mistake it was my 1st try at this
my citrus x citrus laid 9 eggs i got the exo terra incubator pt2499
and i used repashy superhatch in plastic tubs with lids that i poked pencil size holes in i put 3 eggs per container covered them 60-70%
after 2 weeks in the incubator every egg was covered with mold
the only thing i did was every 3rd day looked at the eggs and checked the humidy levels
i dont understand why this happened but i would like to learn how to prevent this from happening again and hatching out healthy clutches
any help would be great
thanks mike

I look at all the containers and dry off the lid of any extra water. I still get 1 or 2 that still mold but not that often. Keep tring its fun

If she only laid 9 eggs and it was her first clutch, the eggs probably weren't good to begin with. It's pretty common (for whatever reason) for females to not be very productive for their first breeding season, than take off after that multi-clutching with 80-90% of the eggs being good/fertile.

You may not be done yet, Mike. I bred a virgin female earlier in the year, and I currently have her 5th clutch in the incubator. Her 1st was 28 eggs, but only 8 of those hatched. Success rate has improved dramatically with each clutch (except for clutch 4 of 40 eggs that I screwed up). I'm hoping it will improve more next season. Good luck with yours!!
