Independence Day babies!

Well, one was a 4th of July pippie, anyway. This was a clutch of 4 eggs I have a suspicion I got to before the mother could eat them all. She's het amel, the male is amel. 3 are out so far, all normal.

All so far appear female and have jet black bellies.

Even the normals in these guys are awesome!

Wink He must have heard the fireworks~

Admittedly not the best odds there, but congrats on your new hets! I'd be proud, they're all simply adorable with those lil' faces!
Love those solid bellies too, very neat!

Cute!! I wonder if black bellies are genetic. I have a big female with an all black belly.

Love your little ones!

The mother of these had a normal checkered belly, the sire was an amel who appeared to have reduced checkering, but nowhere near this solid. I wound up with 4 normals, all female, all black bellied.

Could be a recessive trait like toffee belly.

If it is genetic it should be Licorice Belly! Giggle.

Clutch #2 from different mother and father is hatching today, so far also black-bellied, how strange.
