regurging corn

I have an Okeetee '02 hatchling that seems to be having some difficulty keeping his food down.

I got him about a month ago. His first meal stayed down fine, so I fed him again 5 days later. He ate it, but regurged it the next day.

So, I waited 8 days and fed him again, it stayed down fine. I waited 5 more days (which was last night) and fed him again, and this morning I found he regurged it again.

I checked my temps cool side - 73; warm side 82; from what I have read this is good.

The first time he regured, I thought it had to do with the fact the meal was almost a fuzzy instead of a pinky (I was running out). His last 2 meals were very small pinkies, so now I don't know what to think.

I have been thinking about getting some GSE to spike his water with to help him heal internally from the regurge.

Any thing else I can do for the poor guy?

Your temps are okay, but ideally, they should be a little higher, especially since your snake is still fairly young. I would recommend a high of 85-87 and a low of 75-77. Since your snake kept his meal down after waiting 8 days, but not 5 days, only feed him once a week (every 7 days), and don't try to increase the frequency. Some snakes just seem to take a little longer to digest everything. I feed all my corns, hatchlings to adults, only once a week unless there are special circumstances to give an occasional meal sooner (such as a female that just laid eggs or a hatchling that was a late starter/poor feeder and needs a little catching up to do...and this is only well after the hatchling has been eating very regularly).

If your snake continues to regurgitate on a regular basis, take him to a vet for an exam.

Good luck!
