Andrew, the documentation I've found differs with most of what you say. Can you provide some sources to your research? You mention personal experience, can you explain what the background is that leads you to believe what your post states? I am in no way a lawyer, but from my minimal business law courses I'm curious if Canada is just that different, or if you are perhaps mistaken. I will happily admit I am no expert, but I'm always open to learning something new!

You can have seperate non profits on the side as well as for profit business. Its vey common especially in the upper echelon tax bracket.

Allison if you look up mass raffle laws the statute pops right up and it seems pretty clear to me from what I read. There's a post I made way back referencing the refusal, as i can see it interpreted as well.

Even if ty was a. In profit. Which I don't believe he is. There are laws that weren't followed

You can't say an amount for the tickets.
You must deliver the prize

Also because it was in mass court and in mass you can't have raffles. This is why they told me that I need to go to FL court. I didn't do anything illegal.
I have not read anywhere that a mass resident can't enter a raffle in another state.

When I asked if he produced any albino blues yet on July 31 (the date on the raffle terms when it was supposed to be delivered)

Yes I asked for the breeders info but he wouldn't even give me that!

Then he said "you are not getting the money"

Then he said "I will get you an albino like I promised. It's the same quality"
And after he said "I should have said if I didn't have any albinos to give you I'll give $3,000"

then he said "ok I'll send you one I produced, I was going to keep them all but I'll send you one I produced"

Any person would wonder what is going on with all of the I did , I didn't I did I didn't

But yes at this point I did question it all and said "if I had known this was going to be shady and scammy I probably wouldn't have bought tix for the albino "

His response was if you are going to complain please do so. You will get an albino tegu like I promised. I'll post out concersation on lineFB"

He said " you are welcome to post anything u want on FB and let other people decide. Purple tegu is albino tegu"

BUT HE IS SUING ME NOW FOR POSTING ONFAUNA????? Doesn't make sense when he told me he would and I could post it.

Then I said "ok then give me a purple. U said you only produced the purple albinos not the blue albino"

he said "you will get one like the one in the photo"
HE ALREADY SAID HE DOSNT PRODUCE ANY BLUES!! So one would wonder where it was coming from. No?

Then he said "u are getting nothing FROM ME going forward escort one baby albino tegu that will grow up LIKE THE ONE IN THE RAFFLE PHOTO"

During this I asked for photos etc. and I got nothing!!

In his Oct fb post he replied to a few people's comment he stated that he was going to send me a purple so I commented I said he never offered me a t+ tegu but I commented and I asked (I believe I tagged him) him are you saying you will send me a t+ purple? I said it 2x and he didn't reply to either comment.

I then pmd him (Oct 13) and asked for clarification because yes I was confused and he replied with
"To late for that. I've already hired a lawyer. If you asked nicely that you needed the money instead of telling me I'm trying to scam you. I would have considered it. After that, I am not willing to give you anymore information for you to twist my words. I did not mention your name on that post. You chose to id yourself. I have plenty of support. Good luck in court.

Andrew do you have any info backing up your claim about Ty being a non-profit entity, or is this just another assumption? I find it odd that the topic has never been broached until now with you being the first to assert this in any shape or form.

That's why I said I believe he has one, I know allot of business owners who do, usually for tax purposes. I just find it hard to believe that with the raffles and auctions hes run, especially the past iguana fest and some of the people in attendance, that he eould be doing it out of legal channels. Ty has at least 2 companies, and i believe has has a non profit as well as at least another company. You can own businesses and still run non profits, it's a way to circumvent legalities and certain regs. And protects people's backsides as well.

I believe Andrew meant that Ty Park has both non-profit and for-profit entities.

David, way back in the beginning of the thread I checked and did not find a non profit for Ty, the posts are there somewhere.
Anyone who says different should be able to easily do a search and find it and post it here, as states have searchable records of such organizations.

Your beliefs are not lining up with reality, unfortunately. I have also searched and cannot find any evidence that Ty has a non-profit anything.

If you find info that contradicts this, post it here. Otherwise please leave such speculation out of the conversation.

Wait....I thought Ty's supporters said he does these things out of the goodness of his own heart, not for tax purposes or a tax write-off? Are we backtracking now away from the humanitarian angle to the businessman angle?

Again, your "beliefs" have no bearing here when comparing them to the reality of the situation. He failed to deliver Michelle's prize and has acted like a petulant child toward her, so why would anything surprise you?

Whoa....."circumvent legalities"? Is that a fancy way of saying "to get around the law"? Because I'm fairly positive that's what you're saying. Why is that a good thing, remind me?
