Sad News

unfortunately on monday i lost heat in my house for quite some time because when i came home from working the overnite there was no heat. today i had to break down my 55 gallon freshwater due to more than 75% of the tank dying and the remaining fish looking pretty bad. i doubt i am going to do another set up. really upset loved this tank.

Sorry to hear about that, I had the same thing happen several years ago when the power was out for 10 days from a snow storm and Ive never set the tank back up. I loved my fish and I didn't want to go through losing any again.

That's a shame. I've had similar happen, except in reverse. We lost power in the summer, and with no AC, it's get a little HOT in Texas. Anyway, it overheated a small seahorse tank I had, and they eventually succumbed to disease from the stress.
Don't ditch all of your equipment yet, you may come back around. Fish can be highly addictive. I started out with a 10 gal and quickly worked up to a 125, (plus all the little tanks I still have going all over the house.)
