What is the best way to heat a plastic container???

What is the best way to heat my "little" rack.they are plastic,and i dont have much money,can you list your top 3 pics thanks

Heat tape with a thermostat. You can also run the heat tape on a dimmer to save alot of money then get a thermostat later. You just have to make sure the temperature in the room is stable and check the hot side several times a day to be safe.

Ive never tried anything else on my plastic bins, maybe others have and can give mor options

If your rack is small enough you might just want to make a trip to the local pet shop and pick up Zoomeds Heat Cable or the Heat tape that is precut and connected to wire already... can't think of what its called off hand. I wouldn't go all out and make it expensive if I were you...

Well, if your at the bottom of the pit money wise.You can just surround the rack with lots of electrical appliances that produce heat.(computers,refridgerators etc.)..but personally ive never tried it.=P

Not advisable due to the fact most appliances have fans that kick on or occasionally produce sounds and vibrations that would knock the stress factor up a notch or 2.

Depending on the width of your "rack" 3" heat tape is like $2 a foot and Matt at MG Reptiles will wire it to a dimmer for like $10. If you get a heat matt you will still need some type of heat control, my heat matts get above 94 so I don't use them anymore.

the mats are made out of the same exact material... they need a rheostat on them. you can get a rheostat at most reptile shops which the mats plug into and there is a thermometer on a wire which you can attach at any convienant location. The problem with heat tape which you have to assemble is just that... you have to assemble. It may not seem like it takes a genius to figure it out but there are many that do not do it correctly and this can result in fire.

Wiring is easy but Matt does it for really cheap, the Dimmer comes prewired for $15 I think, then a couple of feet of heat tape would not be much.

I wouldn't pay $40 at a pet shop for a rheostat they are just fancy dimmers, online they are abotu $25 but Matt can wire a dimmer much cheaper and you wind up with the same thing.
