The Tampa Snake Pit.....Neil Gubitz......

We were in Tampa last Sunday to pick up some animals and since we were in the area and are always looking for new pet shops to terrorize, so we decided to drop in on The Snake Pit.  When first entering there is an Iguana enclosure on the left side of which was one of the best Ive ever seen for Iggys in a pet store.  The was no pungent odors like most pet stores which is something I check for first.  We introduced ourselves to Neil and he was very friendly and basically gave us a tour of the store.  Most of the animals in his store were to die for, and the ones that wern't were still nice animals.  To be honest there was a little fecal matter in some of the cages but nothing that was a week old, or keeping the animals in an unhealthy condition. The enclosures were all decked out for the most part looking appealing to the eye and the cage sizes were appropriate, as in a lot of pet stores you always see that one 2-3 foot Savanna monitor in a 10 gallon tank and I can gladly say that wasn't a problem in Neil's store.  Neil was more than helpful answering any questions we had and his husbandry standards are definetly "upped" compared to the majority of pet stores we have been in.  We will be returning to The Snake Pit when in the area, and would feel comfortable purchasing from Neil as well............Michael Beberman and Erica Rogers

So hopefully sometime the first part of May this will be completed and when ya get back down to Neil's Pit there will be something else there to catch your eyes !.Neils goin to be receiving spam_one of my NEW cages for setup in his shop there to do with as he wants .. but Neil ill tell ya ... lol i dont wanna see no CrAp in my cage ... lol spam_take care guy and will be working on this VERY soon for you

WOW! Erica & Mike....that was REALLY nice!! Had I KNOWN you two were going to show up...I would have put a dead Iguana carcass on top of the fecal matter! lol

If you go into a pet shop and DON'T see ANY fecal matter?....that means they DON'T FEED THEIR ANIMALS!! My "kids" deficate ALL THE TIME!! But, I solved that problem with tiny little corks! hahaha

Alan...I can't WAIT for that enclosure to get here!! I need something to store my mice and rats in!! ....Neil

Neil does have a very nice looking store. I have been their a number of times, and agree its alot better then alot of stores you see. Hes no genius, but does take good care of his stuff, so I guess I will let that slide.

Hey neil what is this see you in orlando stuff about? Do you mean Daytona or am I missing something. Lord knows I could use another reason to come to florida.

Neil Im not so sure about the cork thing, ouch! &nbsp;Yes, I would also like to add that all the animals there looked well fed and the animals I saw that were just freshly fed had a great diversity to the diet. I would also like to add that Neil only paid me for these comments on the BOI with a bumper sticker that doubled the value of my car! &nbsp;Neil, maybe next time ill write a realy good post for that Super Tiger Retic! .........Take care...Mike

Allan...That's GREAT!! I could ALWAYS use some big, fat, bloated jumbo rats!! Besides...I NEVER feed my snakes LIVE FOOD anyway!!

And Mike...as for you...If you want my Super Tiger...NO nice post will cover it! You'd better BOTH bring your kneepads!! hahaha

On a side note....I just received 4 high-end Juvi Corns from our Lord and Master (Rich Z.), and I gotta tell you...they are GORGEOUS!! I am VERY impressed! (and for an ex-NY'er...that says a lot&#33<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> Of course, I should have gotten FIVE of them, because, now...I don't know if I'm gonna have enough to make the matching buckle!!

I have been in Neils store and there is one thing that truly makes me wonder ......... How does Angie put up with him for soooooooo long each and every day ..... lol &nbsp; Just kidding Neil.
