Custom cage building?!?!

Im just wondering what material would make for a good sturdy cage that would be easy to clean and manage. Im thinking about using melamine wood. if anyone has any other suggestions, this would be very helpful.

cages

We have built cages out of melamine with great success. I have 13 so far. They stack great and look good as well. We put formica on the front just for an extra kick. The first one was built about 2 or 3 years ago and still look like new. Also very econimical.

do u have any pictures that i can see? from what i hear it seems like they are good designs. i heard melamine was kinda heavy and it makes it hard for cage cleaning?

Here's a pic of the melamine cages we build. They are heavy as hell but we'll never have to replace them. Cleaning them is a breeze.

Hey Mike nice cage. When I made my melamine cage it did not look that good. I wish I had the right tools to make mine look that as nice.

No, the doors are 1/4" glass.

The design is real simple but they will last a life time. Realistically it's nothing more than box for them to poop in. Why waste time and money on bells and whistles, right???

Mike do you have more pics of your cage? Like the side etc. Is the glass tempered? What did you use to hide the unfinished ends of the melamine?
