An interesting outside perspective of the USA

On my ArmsLocker forum, there is a member from Argentina who has been posting there regularly lately. One of the other members asked him why he was so interested in America. I think you will find his response interesting, to say the least....

I’ve been studying about America for quite a long time. I’ve come to love America for her moral and political stands. I’ve come to love Americans because you are the best people in the world. You are the sanest, cleanest, brightest and most generous people in the history of mankind I know of. You generosity can’t be compared to any other people in history. You have conquered Europe twice and then went home. You have conquered Japan and then went home. You have fought and won the most important wars in the history of man, you have established freedom back were it had been taken away and then went home after helping set countries up again, in freedom. Most other civilizations would have built and empire for themselves and try to keep it forever by force. Not Americans. You are the real deal, simply good people, honest and good. I don’t want to bore people with the so many reasons I love America just this planet would not be what it is without American influence. That’s why I’m interested in America.

I’m also en expert on collectivism, socialism, fascism, you name it, because that’s the society I live in and the kind of government that Argentinean stupidity determines that will be our form of government, again and again and again. So I know what a socialist goon does to a country and the deleterious effect that collectivism and socialism has on society.

Put those fact together and it won’t be difficult for you to understand just how much distress it causes me to see the light of the free world in peril of being extinguished by Americans choosing socialism as your for of government. It hurts my guts just to think about it. You see, outside of America, people look at Americans as the keepers of Freedom, the light in the hand of the Statue of Liberty does not only shine for Americans, people look at that light and see hope and the possibility of being free, not only in America but everywhere. People in fear, people without freedom see America and they say to themselves that if Americans are free, maybe they can be free too, that freedom does exist and there’s a chance to imitate Americans and establish freedom, everywhere.

If the light of freedom were to be put out in America the world would have nowhere to look up to and there would be no more light. There would be no more “if they did it maybe we can, too”. It would be “yeah, they tried, the best tried and then they failed”. Collectivists and haters of freedom all around the planet will say “see? Even the Americans have chosen socialism, who are you, worm, to protest against it and pretend to be free?! There’s no freedom. Even the Americans abandoned that fool’s dream! Freedom? What freedom?”

If the greatest, freest, most glorious experiment on freedom in the history of man, fails and chooses socialism then the light will be extinguished maybe forever.

There’s very little I can do about it except to participate in forums and write letters and try to influence people. I became a Life Member of JPFO because after examining my options I decided they were the most aggressive organization in the defense of such an important aspect as the right to keep and bear arms. It is not much that I can do to help keep the light of Freedom shining. But what I can, I do.

I hope you consider this a reasonable answer. If not, ask away.

I hope that the Collectivists and haters of freedom never get to say that, though it is looking possible at this point.
