It was Joel DuBay's ad. Ever heard of him? He's offering 3 albinos for the price of what a cheap one goes for and tells you everything that's wrong with them, why they're so cheap and that it's at the request of many people. If you don't like it, don't buy it. More importantly, don't whine about it.
That's just plain wrong in so many ways. I'll refrain from "whining", I'll also never be spending my money with Joel Dubay. Isn't he also in charge of sales in some capacity for Jeff Ronne?

I haven't seen the ad myself, I don't know who Joel is, and I've never had any communication with him at all. But I'd just like to point out that he hasn't stated in the ad that you could breed them together.

I beleive these animals will be able to breed and flourish like any other albino available.
Had he said something to the effect of "I believe these animals will flourish and make a good breeding trio" then I would certainly see a problem with it.

In the rest of the ad he seems to be quite frank and honest about the animals. The price he put them up for seems to reflect their quality as well.

Just thought I'd throw that in there,

They should not be bred, period. Not to each other and not to any other boas. I know it sounds harsh but these animals should have been culled upon the discovery of the eye deformities. This eye problem is not uncommon in albino Bci, and these deformed boas should not be sold, period. Putting them out on the market like that is just greed, pure and simple.

As I stated early in this thread, I do not have a problem with finding deformed, but "otherwise healthy", snakes a home. not even a big problem with selling them, (at a greatly reduced price & with full disclosure of the problems - which Joel did); but I do feel that there are better (quieter, less obvious) ways of doing so than this advertisement...esp considering that given the current market, anyone opening an ad titled "1.2 Albino Boas" (or similar, I don't remember exact wording, but there was no mention of problems in the heading) is looking for potential breeders. and when the ad comes right out and says that it is believed that these snakes will breed and flourish - it crosses an ethical line. it encourages the buyer to breed them, and introduce any passable offspring into the market place...weakening the available gene pool. Had the ad stated that they would be sold only as pets, and that THESE SNAKES SHOULD NOT BE BRED - it would have raised fewer flags. it would have been even better if the ad never mentioned sex ratios, stating only that he had a few albino boas with specified eye problems that would be offered singly as described above...but hindsight is a wonderful thing. thankfully the ad is down. hopefully the snakes have not found their way into somebody's ill planned breeding project; but, instead, will find themselves taken care of

For a while I was keeping track of all the albinos with eye abnormalities that showed up for sale. In my opinion it is one of the worst things that has happened in snake breeding history. There are quite some interest insights in the topic by different people in the following thread:
