When do breeders breed corn snakes?

What time of the year? Just a question, most people seem to have pretty good sales. Isnt it around April and May?

Most commonly introductions are started around the first of March after being warmed up in mid February. Then they are often bred again for a second clutch not long after the first is laid.
Corns are extremely flexible in their breeding though. Some people don't cool them and may start breeding in January. I recommend cooling though, if nothing else it gets both sexes on the same schedule.
I've bred them from February to May for the first clutch of the year.

Snakes don't pay attention to calendars very much.

And they will breed a different times of year in the wild depending where they are found. Ones found in the southern tip of Florida will breed much earlier then those found up in New Jersey.

You can control the cycle significantly if you can control the temperature adequately in your own environment.

To give you an example, many years ago a friend of mine in Delaware was complaining that NONE of his corns bred throughout the Spring and into the Summer, even though he was constantly introducing them. Then around the middle of September he calls me up to tell me that they were NOW breeding like crazy. We talked a bit, and come to find out that he liked his room (he kept the snakes in his bedroom) to be REALLY cool, so he had the air conditioning cranked way down as soon as it began to warm up outside. When it got cooler outside and he shut off his a/c, then the temps in his room rose somewhat and the snakes "thought" it was springtime to them.
