Agreed!

I think I saw this same leopard posted on that other forum. Once again a melanistic. Nice looking.

Thanx, what other forum by the way?! Hopefully it´s not the same pic. or the same Leo as I have the copyright of the pic. and that I own the Leo.
Though I have the same pic. in a swedish forum.

Back to nikki, im new at this "morph stuff", is it a rare morph or is it a more common one?
The breeder i bought her from told me that most breeders and "collectors" dont like this morph so i bought her very cheap (about U.S 30$), was he right or was he wrong?

im not a 100% that even is a morph. its basically a dark normal but it does seem to have a little penstriping.

ideally a melanistic anything would be solid black and as you can see that animal isnt a solid color.

Like chad said, a melanistic is bassically a dark normal. But aside from that, there are a few breeders who enjoy the very dark normals. Kelli H. has several melanistics, and I have one, I'm sure some others do.

I think there is a thread on the front page about melanistics if it is still there.

I guess you could call it a hypermelanistic, but I wouldn't consider it a morph. It's a very dark normal. I would still consider it a very valuable animal to have, as you can use it on a quest to create an all black leopard gecko.
