The Welcome Room & New Member Intros How about a place for new members to come on in, make an introduction, and meet the regulars? Talk about yourself or anything else that comes to mind, just to break the ice. Or just pull up a chair and make yourself at home for a spell.

new from indiana

my name is melanie, i'm 16 and basically live and breathe reptiles lol

i became drawn to them out of the blue early last year and went and got a bearded dragon soon after i'm still not sure what morph she was but she was beautiful and unfortunately passed away this year after catching some sort of fungus.

i currently own an american alligator who i've decided to keep permanently, he's about 3 feet right now and resides in a 300 gallon stock tank until i move out and can give him his own room and an outdoor enclosure for summer.
i don't recommend keeping crocodilians as "pets" to anybody who has considered getting one, they're a life long commitment, not just something you get to show off to your friends while they're small and then dump when they become too much work. they're also expensive and somewhat dangerous in the wrong hands but if you're like me then knock yourself out lol, owning damien has been an amazing and fascinating experience.

i also have a tokay gecko and 6 snakes which include a red tail boa, a ghost boa, a salmon boa, a jampea super dwarf reticulated python, a honduran milk snake, and a ball python. ^_^

i don't know if i'll be active on here so feel free to add me on facebook if you'd like to see pictures of my cold blooded babies

i joined because at some point in the future i plan on looking for reptiles that are a bit more difficult to find than others like a lace monitor and gila monster and figured it'd be a good start to check for any on here.
