Mites in Terrarium

Hello, It was bound to happen sooner or later. I have mites that have entered one of my terrariums. It came from our flying geckos that have been in quarantine the last two months. They did have red mites when recieved and I thought that we had them all gone. The problem is now I see some not too many on them in the terrarium about 5 or so on each. The problem is we also have Red Eye Tree Frogs in there which I could take out but at this point I consider them infected too as well as the whole tank. The problem is they are now in the terrarium. Any thoughts on the start of this process or anything anyone has used that would be safe for the plants and animals. Thanks Keith

Run a search in this part of the forum for mites. There's a type of bug that eats nothing but them and then dies off. I can't remember what they're called but I know they're in this section somewhere along with the company that supplies them. I've heard from a couple people that it works but have never had to try it myself (knock on lots of wood).

Pill bugs are good for terrarium clean-up and cleaning up mites. They do need adequate moisture and you have to clean up after them of course!

Thanks everyone. I have purchased hypoaspis mites to see if they work. I just hope and prey no other enclosure gets them as of now that terrarium is on lockdown. I am going to treat the other two terrariums as a precaution. One has Albino Red Eye Tree frogs so they would be easy to spot if they get on them.
